THERE has been speculation for months as to who could be the next James Bond.
Ever since Daniel Craig quit, the bookies have been giving their odds on who may be chosen to be the new 007 spy.
Who will be the new James Bond?
Since Daniel Craig first announced that he would no longer be playing James Bond, there have been lots of rumours about who will replace him.
Bond fans were left shocked when it was announced by 007 film producer Michael G. Wilson that the new Bond would be “30-something”.
This means both hot favourites Idris Elba and Tom Hardy are OUT of the running.
Here are the latest odds (supplied by Ladbrokes):
Lucien Laviscount
Lucien Laviscount isn’t on the Ladbrokes odds list but his appearance on Good Morning Britain suggests that he may be preparing to take on the role of Bond.
Appearing on the ITV show he was quizzed on the rumours as he replied: “Listen, if the Bond phone call came in, you don’t turn that down.
“That would be something pretty special I’m sure.
“I think it’s one of the most iconic British roles and I’d love to be in the mix for that!”
It wouldn’t be his first big role as he’s already well-known for his part in Emily In Paris.
He’s also starred in other popular series such as Waterloo Road and Coronation Street.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson 15/6
Movie hunk Aaron Taylor-Johnson has topped the bookies’ list since 2022 after it was revealed that the British actor had already “filmed a top-secret scene” at Pinewood Studios, Berkshire.
The actor is not new to the cinema screen, having taken part in Bullet Train in 2022 and featured as Pietro Maximoff in the Marvel movie Avengers: Age of Ultron.
He is also very famous for starring in the Kick-Ass movie series and Tenet.
On March 18, 2024, The Sun exclusively revealed how Bond bosses have offered the job to Aaron and are just waiting for the actor to sign on the dotted line.
A source told us: “Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it.
“The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back.”
They added: “Aaron may not be the best known in his field but he is an incredibly talented actor.
“His role in Nocturnal Animals showed his depth as an actor.
“He is the perfect person to play Bond and will pick up well from where Daniel left off.”
Henry Cavill – 7/2
Henry Cavill shot to international stardom playing Superman – but could he be the next James Bond?
He has certainly got the looks for it, and would step into the role effortlessly.
Henry began his career at the age of 20, starring in the film adaptations of The Count Of Monte Cristo (2002), and I Capture The Castle (2003).
Henry later appeared in TV shows The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, Midsomer Murders and The Tudors, before heading to Hollywood.
It was there that he was cast in the coveted role of Superman in Man Of Steel, the film that would kickstart the DC Cinematic Universe.
James Norton – 4/1
With his chiselled jaw, and Englishman good looks, James Norton has been a hot contender for the next Bond for many years.
He is known for playing the lead role of Sidney Chambers in Grantchester, but he has since swapped Blighty for Hollywood.
James also wowed fans of Happy Valley when he played the evil Tommy Lee Royce in all three series of the hit BBC drama.
However, he has previously told fans “not to bet on him” to play Bond, as he doubts he would get the role.
But his thoroughly British Cambridge education stands James in good stead to take on the role of smoothly-spoken Bond.
In December 2019, James gave an intriguing interview in which he spoke about downing strong martinis — 007’s signature cocktail, which has fuelled speculation he was dropping hints about the role.
Rege-Jean Page – 4/1
Ever since hunky actor Rege-Jean Page set pulses racing as the Duke of Hastings in period drama Bridgerton, he has been a favourite to play the playboy spy.
The TV and film star’s hopes to bag the role of Bond soared after he starred in thriller The Gray Man, alongside Bond girl Ana de Armas, Billy Bob Thornton, and Alfre Woodard.
As he is born in 1988, he definitely fits into the millennial Bond category.

The Sun revealed how Bond insiders have said that as soon as Aaron signs the contract, there will be an announcement.

This could mean fans could know who the next James Bond is by the end of March 2024.

There will be another James Bond movie, but the title of the film is yet to be revealed.
The next 007 film has been delayed because of 2023 Hollywood strikes.
