Payal detailed her diet to Times of India. “I start the day with a glass of milk. My breakfast alternates between egg white, brown bread, papaya, cornflakes and milk or salads and poha with tea,” she said. “For lunch I adhere to soya flour rotis, vegetables, dal, curd and salad. I love spicy food and chaats. My urges to dig into something sweet are taken care of by munching a chocolate or indulging in a cup of ice-cream. I snack in-between on digestive biscuits and protein shakes. My dinner is simple and it comprises of cottage cheese (paneer), curd and salad.”

“Yoga is very important to me – it’s like brushing teeth or taking a bath. When I am busy, I’ll do it for 45 minutes, but when I am free, I could go on for a couple of hours,” Payal told Ahmedabad Mirror.”Nowadays, I combine yoga with a lot of gymnastic workouts at the beach when I am in Mumbai. I am trying to do various types of workouts which are not necessarily for weight loss, but help with body flexibility, speed, mind fitness , overall fitness and I believe it all comes when you are able to control your body.”

Payal exercises, but not just to look good. “It is very important to put fitness in our regime. It’s not necessary to have a perfect body, everybody is different here – I am not claiming that being lean is perfect or having a fuller body is perfection,” she told Ahmedabad Mirror. “All I want to convey is that keep fit, work out in a way that isn’t taxing for your body. You are being very unrealistic if you are not looking after the body – you live in it till your time on earth.”
