Nargis Fakhri in Workout Clothes “Never Felt Better and Stronger”

Bollywood star Nargis Fakhri is looking and feeling the best she ever has, thanks to a workout routine that challenges her at every step. Fakhri, 44, shared a video of herself wearing blue shorts and a matching tank top, doing a workout that included a kettlebell, resistance training, and jumping rope. “Never felt better & stronger,” she captioned the post. Fakhri works hard to stay strong, fit, and camera ready—here’s how she does it.

Fakhri loves yoga, Pilates, and weight training. “I’m a follower of yoga but I also incorporate other things into my fitness regimen,” she told the Hindustan Times. “I love Pilates. I’m doing a lot of weight training these days with swimming, treadmill cardio and some HIIT exercises. I like to mix things up because it makes things exciting for me. I think when you keep a mix, you tend to lose weight faster. Yoga is not only for weight loss. Yoga is one exercise for me, which is for the body, mind and spirit. This is why I love it so much. When your body is healthy and your mind is not, it’s not going to get you anywhere, it’s vice versa. You need a combination of both.”

Fakhri stays hydrated by drinking two liters of water a day. “I also have coconut water daily and make sure I eat something every two hours,” she told Suhaag. “My snacking is limited to health foods like walnuts, almonds and dried fruits. At night, I try to eat a light meal, but sometimes I don’t succeed. I absolutely love desserts and, yes, I cheat very often. I think the key is not to be hard on yourself, but use moderation. One should eat everything in the required quantity. You must know what suits your body the best.”

Fakhri knows the movie industry is focused on looks, but believes you need much more to survive. “I think looks are important but not as important as your skill as an actor is,” she told IANS. “It’s your craft and your ability to perform needs to shine. The audience will come to see a pretty girl on the screen, maybe twice, but after that they want you to bring more to the table.”

Fakhri doesn’t have time for lengthy beauty treatments. “I need a beauty regime that guarantees results,” she told Suhaag. “A 20-minute deep conditioning treatment with hot coconut-based hair oil for my hair really works for me as it locks in the moisture and keeps my hair soft and smooth.”

Fakhri always keeps her skin clean and hydrated. “Cleansing and moisturizing your skin is very important during monsoon,” she told IANS. “All my skin care products are light, so they allow my skin to breathe in the humid weather. I never skip moisturizing my skin with a natural ingredients-based moisturizer. This beauty ritual is important in all seasons.”
