Hinds Announce New Album, Reveal “Boom Boom Back” with Beck

Spanish indie rock outfit Hinds have announced a new album, VIVA HINDS, which is set to drop September 6th via Lucky Number. The band has also confirmed a North American tour and dropped the Beck-featuring single “Boom Boom Back.”

VIVA HINDS serves as somewhat of a rebirth for the act, as songwriters Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote faced numerous Hinds-related struggles throughout the last few years. They split with their management, label, drummer, and bassist, succumbing to something of a creative rut as a result. Four years after their last release The Prettiest Curse, though, Cosials and Perrote are set to return with a brand new project that seeks to rejuvenate Hinds and, notably, houses the band’s first Spanish language songs.

To accompany the new record, Hinds have charted out an autumn jaunt through North America. Their 2024 American tour kicks off on October 12th in San Diego before hitting cities like Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia, and Brooklyn.

A ticket pre-sale for select dates is set for Friday, May 10th at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster (use code SOUNDCHECK), with a general on-sale following on Monday, May 13th.

“Boom Boom Back” also arrives alongside the announcement of VIVA HINDS. The first taste of the band’s new era, the track is an upbeat, bouncy piece of alternative rock. Cosials and Perrote sing over bright guitars and a groovy rhythm section, and Beck hops on to offer a verse of his own. Stream the new tune below.
