Jay-Z would indeed make for a solid NFL team owner, Tina Knowles says.
As TMZ shared over the weekend, a paparazzo briefly caught up with Beyoncé’s mother about the possibility, notably citing reports from earlier this month about Jay and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos allegedly being interested in buying the Washington Commanders.
When asked about her son-in-law and daughter potentially being “in the conversation” to buy a team, more specifically the Commanders, Knowles provided a broad answer about her confidence in their respective choices.
“I have no doubt that anything they put their minds to do, they can do it well,” Knowles said, as seen in the video below. “I don’t know anything about it though.”
Asked to elaborate further, Knowles understandably declined, offering a quick “that’s enough” to the paparazzo.
It’s a brief response, expectedly, but again revives the topic of Jay’s name indeed being mentioned in recent reports about the future of the Commanders. For example, the Washington Post reported earlier this month that Bezos could be recruiting Jay-Z as an investor in a potential bid for the Commanders.
Also this month, Dan and Tanya Snyder were confirmed to have started the process of an eventual sale, namely by hiring Bank of America Securities. Per a team rep’s comments to the Associated Press at the time, “all options” were being considered.
Meanwhile, Jay-Z is currently up for five more possible Grammys, with the DJ Khaled collab “God Did” having scored nominations in multiple categories at the 65th edition of the annual awards show. For a full list of the 2023 nominees, hit this link.
