Kid Cudi Congratulates Sheryl Lee Ralph on Her Historic Emmy Win

Kid Cudi is a big fan of Sheryl Lee Ralph.

Cudder was among the many celebrities who congratulated Ralph on her historic victory at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards. The 65-year-old actress won Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Barbara Howard in the ABC sitcom Abbott Elementary. It marked the second time a Black actress won the category, following Jackée Harry’s 1987 win for 227.

Ralph’s son, Etienne Maurice, posted a TikTok video in which he learned Cudder and sent his mom a bouquet of flowers along with a heartfelt congratulatory note.

“Kid Cudi gave you flowers? No! What?” the 30-year-old tells his mom, before reading the note aloud. “Congrats Sheryl, you are a legend, and watching you and Quinta [Brunson] win was truly inspiring. Your speech was everything. Always rooting for you…Looking forward to meeting you one day.”

Ralph’s 27-year-old daughter, Ivy-Victoria Maurice, was also in disbelief.

“Kid Cudi, oh my gosh. I know you sent my mom flowers, but I love you so much,” she said, before she and her brother began reciting lyrics from the rapper’s “Maui Wowie” song.

Maurice also expressed his gratitude in the video caption.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think one of my favorite artists of all time would be sending flowers to my mom,” he wrote. “I know this is about my Mom, but @KidCudi, my mother wouldn’t know who you were if I wasn’t blasting your music on my way to school in the morning or her buying tickets to see you for my high school graduation. I am your fan from DAY 1 bro bro. Thank you for showing love to moms. You are loved my g.”
