Eminem Has New Album "Coming Out This Year," Says Dr. Dre

Dr. Dre has revealed Eminem is returning with a new album in 2024. While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday (March 19th), Dre said Em gave his blessing to announce the big news.

“Eminem is working on his own album, which is coming out this year,” Dre said. “I actually talked to him and he said it was okay for me to make that announcement right here on this show. So he has an album coming out, I’ve got songs on it and it’s fire.”

He continued, “I’m actually gonna hear the entire album for the first time tomorrow. He holds his music close to his chest, so I haven’t heard everything. I haven’t even heard everything complete that I’ve done, but I’m gonna hear it, and he’s putting out an album this year.”

After Kimmel pointed out Dre is very hands-on with any music he produces, Dre admitted, “There’s things that I have to mix that I’ve done, but I get the chance to hear the album in its entirety.”

Watch Dre talk about Em’s new album below. The discussion begins around the 25:20 mark.

Eminem’s last album, Music to Be Murdered By, was a surprise release in January 2020. It was followed by a deluxe edition that dropped that December.

During the sitdown, Dre was joined by frequent collaborators Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent for his first late night television appearance in over 30 years. He was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier in the day; Eminem was in attendance but left before Kimmel.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Dre and Snoop discussed working on their seminal album, The Chronic, and their upcoming Doggystyle sequel, Missionary, the latter of which Snoop said Dre will begin mixing in April.
