Apple Music is giving away free Beats Flex earphones to new student subscribers as part of its traditional Back to School campaign. The campaign features a gift card offer and discounts on Apple products.

Not only is Apple offering students a discount on its products, but they’re also providing up to $150 off of select products. Additionally, the company is offering new subscribers of Apple Music’s plan for students — of which they recently raised the price — a free pair of Beats Flex earphones. However, there are limitations.

The offer is only available in the United States and the United Kingdom. It allows students to order a free pair of Beats Flex earphones after subscribing to the Apple Music student plan for the first time.

As outlined by Apple, the offer cannot be combined with any other Apple Music offer. The offer is also unavailable to users who have previously subscribed to any Apple Music tier. Students can only order the earphones for free after paying for the first month’s subscription, so users are not eligible until after their one-month trial period.

As expected, Apple says that students who cancel the subscription before the trial period ends and before paying for the first month will not be eligible.

Eligible students will receive an email from Apple after 30 days of subscription with instructions for ordering their free Beats Flex earphones. This offer is for a “limited time” with no details about when it will end. Users may be able to choose the color of their earphones, depending on availability.

Beats Flex is Apple’s “entry-level” wireless earphones under the Beats brand. The Beats Flex is not “truly” wireless — a cord connects the two earbuds — unlike the AirPods and other Beats earbuds. Still, they share much of the same functionality, including a W1 chip for fast wireless pairing with iPhone, iPad, and ‘Find My’ support.

The earphones also have Class 1 Bluetooth for a stable connection and better compatibility with Android devices. The Beats Flex has a built-in microphone, volume controls, and around 12 hours of battery life, rechargeable via a standard USB-C cable. The earbuds usually cost $69.99 in the US.
