Snoop Dogg Goes Swimming with Michael Phelps at Olympics

The 2024 Summer Olympics are well under way in Paris, and while the world’s nations are still competing to make the podium, there is one individual who has already secured more than a few metaphorical gold medals: Snoop Dogg. In a funny segment that aired during Tuesday’s primetime Olympics broadcast, the rapper linked up with Michael Phelps in the pool to prove his lungs remain as strong as ever.

In the clip, “Mr. 23-Time, The OG, The Goat,” Michael Phelps, attempts to teach Snoop race-ready swimming technique. Adorned in a custom American flag robe, Snoop dives in to see if he has what it takes to achieve athletic glory — just don’t offer him any goggles.

Snoop Dogg has been all over this year’s Olympic coverage. In addition to being the happiest, most experienced (in a way) torchbearer and running a mock 200-meter trial, he’s an NBC correspondent for the event. The gig has seen him both in the studio and on the ground, chasing the biggest stories of the Olympics. Someone give this man a Pulitzer already.

The 2024 Summer Olympics are ongoing. Pop culture highlights include Celine Dion’s live comeback and Gojira’s epic performance at the opening ceremony, as well as Flavor Flav’s support of the US women’s water Polo team.
