Sydney Sweeney’s 2024 Met Gala appearance was like something from a fairy tale, perfectly embodying the essence of a Disney Princess.
At 26, the actress dazzled on the red carpet wearing a dress that perfectly embodied the event’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” with its striking sophistication.
Sweeney graced the event in a baby blue Miu Miu ball gown, featuring a voluminous tulle skirt adorned with intricate embroidered flowers. The gown’s long train added elegance, and sleek black opera gloves provided a striking contrast to her ensemble.
But the real jaw-dropper was her hair – a black bob with bangs. The usually blonde actress went over to the dark side for the night, and it turned heads.
The dress code for the event is inspired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s forthcoming Costume Institute exhibit. It showcases approximately 250 pieces, among them an exquisite 1877 silk satin ballgown by Charles Frederick Worth.

Of course, Sweeny fans flooded X with thoughts on her fairytale look. “Love the wig on her and gives just the slightest hint of briar or Snow White,” one fan wrote. A second fan compared Sydney to a style icon. “The skirt part reminded me of Grace Kelly’s twig skirt in Rear Window,” they noted.
Finally, there are always at least a few unhinged Sweeney admirers out there. “God has made Sydney Sweeney like [the] moon and our desire is to get the moon #MetGala”, a not-at-all disturbed fan added.

The theme for the 2022 Met Gala, “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” called for gilded glamour and a white-tie dress code, setting the stage for her memorable debut.
In 2023, Sweeney dazzled at the gala in a bejeweled baby pink Miu Miu dress with a chic black bow at the front. She embraced the theme with a stylish hairstyle, adding a black bow at the crown to enhance her voluminous blowout.
