As the nations appetite for all things 00’s continues to grow, Heart have announced they are to launch a brand new radio station dedicated to the music of the much loved decade, fronted by one of the era’s biggest stars, Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, and DJ Mike Panteli.

Launched yesterday (May 20th), Heart 00s will play feel good music from the 00s across the UK on DAB Digital Radio (nationally on D1), on Global Player, on your smart speaker by saying “play Heart Noughties” and at heart.co.uk.

Heart’s Ashley Roberts, who sold tens of millions of records worldwide in the noughties as a member of The Pussycat Dolls, will join Heart 00s to host her first ever solo radio show every Saturday night from 4pm – 7pm, whilst Mike Pantelli will host weekday mornings, 6am – 10am starting from Monday, May 23rd.

Commenting on the launch of the new station, Roberts says in a press release: “We’re taking you back to the 00’s hunnis, and I’m beyond excited to be hosting my first ever solo radio show on Saturday nights! The 00’s has a special place in my heart as it’s an era with a lot of incredible memories. I can’t wait to play you the most iconic throwback tunes on Heart 00s… including a few Pussycat Dolls songs too!”

With Panteli adding: “I’m really excited to be part of Heart’s brand new station, Heart 00s. Heart is so iconic, and it’s a real privilege to be hosting the Heart 00s Breakfast show. Looking forward to waking you all up!”

The news comes as Global reports massive growth for Heart’s decades stations (Heart 70s, 80s, 90s and Heart Dance), all seeing huge audience gains as the nation “turns up the nostalgia”.

Sharing his thoughts on the Heart’s newest station, Founder & Executive President of Global Ashley Tabor-King OBE, says: “The Heart brand goes from strength to strength and we’ve seen tremendous growth from Heart 70s, Heart 80s, Heart 90s and Heart Dance.  We’ve been wanting to do noughties for a little while now and we’re we’re delighted to add Heart 00’s to the family!”

Whilst Heart’s Managing Editor Andy Everett adds: “We know the noughties are wildly popular with our listeners, and they will love the joyful nostalgia of Y2K when we launched into a new millennium. Gen Z are discovering millennial music on TikTok with tracks like Where Is The Loveby the Black Eyed Peas and Vanessa Carlton’s 2001 track, A Thousand Miles. This is the perfect time to launch Heart 00’s. It’s time to don double denim and turn up the feel good noughties style!”
