Ricky Gervais was once a thriving pop star before he made his career in comedy.
The British comedian, 62, actually moonlighted as a singer in the 1980s, forming a band called Seona Dancing.
The “Office” star created the pop duo with friend Bill Macrae during their senior year at University College London in 1983.
The pair was signed by London Records at the time and even released two tracks: “More to Lose” and “Bitter Heart.”
In a resurfaced video, Gervais can be seen crooning his heart out in typical ’80s fashion while Macrae played the piano.
“Yearly reminder that Ricky Gervais once performed a would-be New Romantic classic in front of a bunch of grade schoolers,” the account called “Terribly Awesome Covers” captioned the jaw-dropping clip.
Some fans were shocked by the revelation — and, naturally, took to the comments section.
“So sad that his trajectory ended him where he is now,” one viewer sighed.
Another joked: “This is simultaneously the most offensive and most interesting thing he’s ever done!”
“Could be a dream sequence from ‘The Office,’” someone penned.
Another fan chimed in: “Yo wtf?! 😩😂😭i never knew this until right now!”
“Ya know, he kind of pulls it off. In the right crowd,” one person added.
“He has some Bowie swagger,” another viewer wrote, referencing the late David Bowie.
Bowie — who died in January 2016 at the age of 69 — even made a cameo in one of Gervais’ TV series.
The “After Life” star created the 2005 British sitcom “Extras,” and Bowie made a guest appearance in one episode as himself.
Gervais previously spoke about his love of music during a 2016 chat with Graham Norton on his eponymous talk show.
“I sneak a song into everything I do. I wrote a song for ‘The Simpsons,’ I wrote a song with David Bowie for ‘Extras.’ I’m a frustrated, failed musician,” he joked at the time.
When a photo from his time with Seona Dancing came up on-screen, the funnyman couldn’t help but laugh at his past.
“That’s called Seona Dancing, let’s move on. I’m not embarrassed by [the throwback picture], I’m embarrassed by [my current look]. Everyone’s going, ‘What the f–k happened?’ I’ll tell you what happened: Pizza happened,’” Gervais quipped.
