A ceremony is set for next Tuesday (April 30th) at 11:30 a.m. PT. Hagar’s celeb look-alike Guy Fieri will serve as emcee and will be joined by John Mayer and Hagar’s longtime friend Tom Consolo.

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to honor rock legend Sammy Hagar for his contributions to the world of rock and roll music,” commented Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a press release. “From his humble beginnings in Fontana, California to strolling the Hollywood Walk of Fame as a young boy, he has truly come a long way.”

Hagar began his wild ride in the music industry as the frontman of ’70s hard rock act Montrose. From there, Hagar forged a successful solo career, spearheaded by the highway anthem “I Can’t Drive 55.” When David Lee Roth stepped away from Van Halen, Hagar became the prime free agent to replace him.

The “Van Hagar”-era of the band, as fans came to know it, was equally successful. Hagar would help pen hits such as “Why Can’t This Be Love” and “Right Now,” and performed on four studio albums during his stint in the band.

Hagar remained active in more recent years with his solo band The Circle and the supergroup Chickenfoot alongside Joe Satriani, Chad Smith, and Michael Anthony. The Red Rocker also launched a highly successful portfolio of spirits, including Cabo Wabo Tequila and Santo Spirits, a partnership with Fieri.

Currently, Hagar is prepping for his star-studded “Best of All Worlds Tour” during which he’ll perform a Van Halen-heavy set with an all-star backing band of Anthony, Satriani, and drummer Jason Bonham. Dates kick off in July, with tickets available here.
