DANCING ON ICE is back for a brand new series in 2024.
The ITV skating competition has scored another star-studded line-up of contestants, professionals and judges for the new instalment.
What do the Dancing On Ice contestants get paid?
Similar to other ITV reality shows like I’m A Celebrity, the exact salaries for the contestants on Dancing On Ice are not released to the public.
Back in 2020 The Sun reported that TV executives at the channel had secured a bumper budget to secure top stars for the beloved skating series.
Salaries for those who take part in the show are reportedly between £20,000 and £100,000.
This is good news for the 2024 cast, which include celebrities like Amber Davies, Ryan Thomas and Ricky Hatton.
In the past, some stars who have taken part in Dancing On Ice have claimed the pay wasn’t great when considering the time that they put into their training.
Former contestant Cheryl Baker, who was a contestant on the show in 2018, previously told The Sun: “The money is not great in my opinion.
“I’ve been training six days a week since October. If you make it to the final it is a six-month project, so the money isn’t much in comparison.
“In this industry, you can go months at a time without a job though. You can’t turn the work down.”
She added: “I have to work. I have a mortgage and bills to pay. I’m not a saver, I never have been.”
Baker was paired with professional Daniel Whiston on the series, with the duo getting eliminated fifth.
As of January 2024, the highest paid star in Dancing On Ice history is Baywatch star Pamela Anderson, who is rumoured to have got £150,000 in 2013.
The actress was voted out first on the eight edition of the show, the same series as Baker, after skating with partner Matt Evers.
What do the professional dancers get paid?
The professional dancers on Dancing On Ice work tirelessly with the celebrities, months before the show even starts to air.
Unlike the judges, they are involved with the show throughout the week, as they have to rehearse with their star partner.
It’s not known exactly how much the pros get paid but it has been reported that the professionals on rival BBC show Strictly Come Dancing receive a flat fee of between £35,000 to £50,000.
What do the judges get paid?
Like last year, the 2024 judging panel is made up of Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill, Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse.
Banjo joined the series as a judge back in 2018, while Mabuse first appeared in 2022.
Torvill and Dean, meanwhile, have been involved with the series since it began back in 2006.
They used to act as coaches for the contestants and their professional partners but were appointed judges in 2018.
ITV has not revealed how much they get paid but the judges on Strictly Come Dancing get paid at least £200,000 per series.
The Dancing On Ice presenters for 2024 are Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern.
Willoughby returns as host after first joining the series in 2006 while Mulhern has replaced Philip Schofield.
Schofield, who was one of the show’s original presenters, stepped down from his role on in May 2023 when he quit all of his ITV duties.
Mulhern and Willoughby go way back as both stars were hosts of CITV’s Ministry of Mayhem in the early 2000s.
The pair both got their big breaks on the children’s series and have since gone on to become household names.
