NIKKIE de Jager has risen to fame since joining YouTube and becoming a makeup guru.
She has acquired millions of subscribers in her career and graced screens across the world as the 2024 Eurovision spokesperson for the Netherlands.
Nikkie is one of the most popular beauty influencers online with 14.6 million YouTube subscribers as of September 2024.
Born in the Netherlands, the vlogger frequently posts makeup tutorials and often collaborates with other beauty influencers such as Jeffree Star.
Nikkie Tutorials and the Power of Makeup
Nikkie has been vlogging since she was a teenager.
Born on March 2, 1994, she first began creating her tutorials secretly in her bedroom at the age of 14.
But it wasn’t until 2015 that she found fame after her YouTube video entitled The Power of Makeup went viral.
The video hit back at “makeup shaming” and demonstrated the transformative power of makeup.
In the seven-minute clip, Nikkie revealed the stark contrast between her with-and-without cosmetics.
Since then her impressive talents with a makeup brush have seen her named Marc Jacobs’ first artistry adviser and the star was even listed among Forbes’ Top Influencers in 2017.
Nikkie has released her own makeup brand which includes products such as eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks as well as serums and lashes.
She has worked her magic on well known stars such as Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga, Drew Barrymore, Nicole Richie, Meghan Trainor, and Jessie J.
She also released a collab with Ofra where she created her own highlighters with cheeky names such as “blind the haters” and “glow goals”.
Nikkie is one of the most followed makeup influencers on Instagram, boasting a massive 19.4million followers.
She shares regular makeup content on her feed as well as keeping her followers in the loop of her life.
Many of her posts consist of Nikkie trying out makeup products while giving her followers her real opinion.
‘I’m Coming Out’ YouTube video
Nikkie shared a video on her YouTube channel called I’m Coming Out in 2020.
She said: “I was born in the wrong body which means that I am transgender.”
She continued: “Planet earth is full of labels, and I never felt comfortable with labels. I wanted to be my own person, my own identity. My own human being.
“I am me. I am still Nikkie. Nothing changes about that.
“The last thing I want in my life is for you to not trust me anymore, or to look at me with different eyes, or look at me in a different manner, or think that I have changed.
“I want to inspire little Nikkies around the world who feel insecure, who feel out of place, who feel misunderstood — I hope by me standing up, and being free, that it inspires others to do the same — to truly live your life like you wanted and the way you deserve.
“It is 2020: it’s time for us to understand, accept, hear, and respect.”
Eurovision 2024
In 2024, Nikkie took on the huge role of being the Eurovision spokesperson for the Netherlands.
Speaking about taking on the role, she said: “I think it is an incredible honour to be able to award the points on behalf of the Netherlands this year.
“After a dream came true when I was able to present the contest in 2020 and 2021, there was always one small wish left: the points!
“Now I can finally say those famous words: ‘Our twelve points go to…’”

Wedding bells
Nikkie got engaged to Dylan Drossaers after he proposed to her in 2019 during a romantic trip in Italy.
The pair met through a mutual friend, and like to keep their relationship private.
In a YouTube video, Nikkie addressed her relationship with her partner Dylan: “Dylan is a very, very special guy. I’ve never met anyone like Dylan.
“He is truly the most kind-hearted man I’ve ever met in my life.
“Dylan and I, we clicked, and he didn’t know. He knows now, Dylan knows about my past, but I wish I’d told him sooner.
“Everything felt so magical, so good, that I was afraid to lose him if I told my full story.
The pair tied the knot on September 6, 2022 and Nikkie said she did her own makeup on the special day.
