President Obama has long inserted his sports and pop culture opinions into the fray. He’s been doing that since the beginning of his presidency, serving as America’s 44th president from 2009-2017.

Whether it’s annual March Madness brackets or annual lists of the best entertainment available, whether it’s movies, television or music, he’s seemingly got an opinion on everything.

As he does every summer, Barack Obama has released his annual summer playlist. Here it is.

That’s quite an eclectic mix in there. There are some big hits from the summer of 2024, and some deeper cuts from the summer. Plus, as always, he includes some throwback tunes.

AS far as big hits from this summer, A Bar Song (Tipsy), Lil Boo Thang, and Million Dollar Baby are among the biggest hits on the playlist.

But, he did leave out arguably the two biggest pop stars of the summer in Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan. Sabrina Carpenter’s hits Please Please Please and Espresso have been unavoidable all summer long. Meanwhile, Chappell Roan has gone from absolute obscurity to a hits machine in the course of a few months after going viral on TikTok earlier this year. Her hits Hot To Go and Good Luck, Babe have led the charge.

As far as oldies go, he’s got some Etta James and Norah Jones on there as far as two songs that really jump out and grab you. And, let’s face it, he just turned 63. He is getting old now!

The playlist is all over top music streaming sites if you want to listen to it start to finish.
