Video Mocks AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Cast Reveal, Using Marvel Legends Figures

Youtube Video

The recent Marvel Studios’ livestream revealing the cast for Avengers: Doomsday pretty much broke the internet. Over 5 1/2 long hours, a video glided over chairs with actors’ names on it, revealing 27 cast members for the upcoming film. The live stream resulted in many social media memes. But a favorite of ours is this video from YouTuber Markez Films. Instead of just the actor’s chairs, they actually used the characters themselves. Except, they used their Marvel Legends action figure counterparts. You can watch this delightful bit of silliness below. And it’s less than two minutes long, not five hours. That’s a bonus!

Each figure is revealed in the same order as in the real announcement. While some of the action figures used in the video are ones based on the MCU, some are just based on the comic book characters, like the X-Men’s Beast and Gambit. The same goes for the members of the Fantastic Four. We imagine the cast of Fantastic Four: First Steps will get their own actual Marvel Legends figures soon enough. But in the meantime, their comic book versions in plastic form will just have to do. And we’re not sure, but some of those X-Men figures look like vintage ones from the early 2000s era.

Was the original Marvel Studios Avengers: Doomsday live stream stunt a bit silly and kind of infuriating? Yes. Did it get a lot of eyeballs on it? Also, yes, to the tune of 275 million people watching. That right there is the power of the Marvel brand, folks. Diminished a bit during recent phases, perhaps, but absolutely not gone. Honestly, if they do a similar live stream for the rest of the cast (assuming there is one) we suggest going the action figure route. It’s just a lot more fun to watch, and goes by much faster.

Avengers: Doomsday hit theaters everywhere on May 1, 2026.
