Who is Traci Young-Byron from Supa Girlz?

Born on November 23, 1979, in Miami, Florida, Tracy is a professional dancer and the founder of Young Contemporary Dance Theatre.

She began her dance journey when she joined the Inner City Children’s Touring Dance Company before the age of five.

She went on to pursue her dance path when she moved to South Miami Middle School, Miami Northwestern Senior High School’s Performing, and Visual Arts Center.

Subsequently, she graduated from Florida State University with a degree in dance in 1997. After graduation, she was selected to study at the Alvin Summer Intensive in New York.

Taking further steps in her career, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance in 2001 after she joined the Kappa Epsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in 2000.

As a result of her stellar background, she earned a spot in the Miami Heat dance group where she danced for nine years.

During this period, she founded the Young Contemporary Dance Theatre in 2004.

She later became the artistic director of the P.A.V.A.C. Dance program and the elite Golden Girls Dance Team in 2008.

When was the Young Contemporary Dance Theatre founded?

Traci founded the Young Contemporary Dance Theatre in 2004

She started her competition, Young Contemporary Dance Theatre SupaStarz, in 2013.

Her studio teaches modern, contemporary, jazz, West African, Caribbean, and Hip-Hop ballet.

Young Contemporary Dance Theatre competition team, SupaStarz, is made up of dancers aged 13 to 18.
