Mattel has announced a Barbie Ken doll styled after NBA star LeBron James. Here’s everything we know about the drop, including when and where to get your hands on one.
To celebrate the 45th anniversary of the first Black Barbie, Mattel is launching a line of Barbie Signature dolls that feature the likes of some of the biggest names in entertainment.
The special lineup includes Alicia Keys, Naomi Osaka, Issa Rae, and LeBron James, with the NBA star being the first to release as his own Ken doll.
It features the athlete in a blue varsity jacket, plaid pants, and high-top sneakers that include his kids’ names on the side. Mattel added accessories as well, like a pair of Beats headphones and a hat with a crown embroidered on top.
News of the LeBron James doll quickly made its way to social media, leaving users shocked and curious about the upcoming release.
Where to buy Lebron James Barbie doll
The Lebron James Barbie Ken doll will be available in two different variants, including signed versions that launch two days early.
UNDEFEATED will have a limited run of the LeBron doll on April 12, 2025, in its Le Brea store in Los Angeles, California, and includes rare signed editions.
Target, Walmart, Amazon, and Mattel Creations will have the LeBron Barbie on April 14, 2025, for $75.
This marks the first time an athlete has been reimagined as a Ken doll, as LeBron has become the first ‘Kenbassador’ for the brand.
The Associated Press shared a video of the NBA star checking out his Barbie for the first time, and he was excited to see it.
“OK, now we ready,” James said. “I mean, he might need to do a little lifting. Legs look a little skinny. Little fraily little fellow. Nah, that’s dope.”
