SoundCloud showcases the future of Latin experimental electronic music with a Toyota Corolla sponsorship.

SoundCloud’s music discovery docu-series, SCENES, returns with an electrifying new season, presented by Toyota Corolla. This season, SCENES dives deep into the underground and avant-garde movements reshaping Latin American and US electronic music, where traditional rhythms collide with futuristic soundscapes. The series spotlights emerging artists who are reshaping the global electronic landscape through their experimental approaches, featuring pioneering creators Sinego, ZDEEP, Bianca Oblivion, and Nick León.

From Mexico City’s pulsating clubs to Miami’s bass-heavy experimentation, from LA’s hybrid underground to global platforms like SoundCloud, Latin artists are at the forefront of a movement that defies categorization. Using SoundCloud’s proprietary data, including early charting trends, community interactions, and play growth metrics, SCENES tracks how these pioneers are evolving the sound of electronic music through their unique artistic visions.

“This episode of ‘SCENES’ is about breaking boundaries and celebrating the bold experimentation Latin artists are making in electronic music,” says Andrea Ropp, US Brand Partnerships Director at SoundCloud. “These artists are shaping a genre that refuses to be boxed in, and SoundCloud is proud to be the platform amplifying their voices.”

“We’re thrilled to join SoundCloud once again for a captivating series highlighting young Latin artists at the forefront of the Latin electronic music movement,” says Andrew George, Sr., Analyst, Media, Model & Series, Integrated Marketing Operations, Toyota Motor North America. “Toyota continues committed to championing music discovery and providing audiences an opportunity to see and hear talented artists who reflect their strong drive to forge ahead to the beat of their own song.”

The series highlights four influential artists who are defining this movement:

Sinego: The face of a new generation of Latin dance music, blurring the lines between deep house, organic electronica, and traditional Latin sounds, Sinego is at the forefront of Mexico City’s electronic renaissance.

2DEEP: An Ecuadorian/Colombian DJ and producer, born in the Bronx, NY, and a transplant to Los Angeles, 2DEEP has been pushing a distinct electronic Latin sound. 2DEEP creates innovative and seamless fusions between a variety of genres — Urban Latin, Reggaeton, Latin Electronic, Guaracha, and EDM.

Bianca Oblivion: The Los Angeles native is a globe-trotting, genre-hopping, hard-hustling artist, named by Mixmag as one of 2023’s breakthrough DJs of the year. Bianca is unbound by dance music orthodoxy, opting instead for an “anything goes as long as it bangs” approach that reflects the unique cultural palette of her hometown.

Nick León: Creating dystopian club music that samples the sounds of Florida’s diverse ecosystem, his style has varied fearlessly along the way. Making his way into the rap world at a young age, he collaborated with some of the biggest underground rappers in South Florida. A self-taught producer and DJ, gravitating toward the Latin sounds coming out of Puerto Rico and Colombia, he felt compelled to shift his focus to his own work.

SCENES: Latin Experimental Electronic is a testament to the fearless creativity shaping Latin music’s future. The latest installment is available now for viewers to experience the next wave of Latin electronic evolution.
