“Can we talk about the Altlanta restaurant scene for a minute, because I am feeling pretty annoyed right now after the dinner I had,” expressed Alexa.

Her video cuts to the point quickly, captioned “Atlanta restaurants are such a scam,” with the words “Atlanta restaurants are out of hand,” scrawled across the video.

She described a trend that she had been seeing of other influencers promoting “mediocre” restaurants which then allowed the price. of food to reach “extortionary” prices.

To investigate, she went out to a popular restaurant in the area with an old college friend who had flown in from Qatar.

” Was like, let it be my treat. Let me take my friend that I have not seen for 20 years out for dinner… It’s not a big deal,” Alexa described her mentality surrounding the outing.

There ended up being a total of three people as her college friend was traveling with one other person, but even then she figured the meal would be a predictably reasonable price.

Between the three diners, they had only two appetizers and three main dishes with no dessert.

For their main courses, Alexa and her friend ordered snapper, a fish, and the third diner ordered mussels.

While the mussels were delicious, Alexa described the snapper as dry and generally subpar.

“It was as dry as the desert. It was almost like they went and fished for this fish in the Sahara Desert,” she described.

The food quality was enough to have Alexa in a huff, but then she received the bill and that was even more irritating.

There was an automatic 20% tip added to the bill which they could not adjust even if the service was bad.

With the unexpected surcharge, that total bill came out to $386.

“I was like, ‘What did we eat?'” reacted Alexa.

For two appetizers and three mains, which were generally not all too good, she felt that the price was ridiculous.

“The service wasn’t bad, I mean the waitress was nice, but it wasn’t exceptional,” she further explained.

Despite the service quality, Alexa was still unable to adjust the gratuity amount.

“Why was I charged $60 bucks for that? What exactly was I paying $60 for,” she challenged the tip amount.

She would be willing to tip regardless of the gratuity automatically imposed; it was that she had no choice in the matter that frustrated the influencer.

“The sad thing is, had this been a great experience… over time I would have spent way more money in this place than I did on tonight’s meal,” said Alexa.

But because of her experience, she does not plan on returning to the establishment ever again.

“They are not giving you the value of what they are charging,” she explained after saying she would advise against people patronizing the restaurant.

“We need to do better.”

“When someone is forcing you to pay a 20% percent tip, my guy, you are not going to see me in your restaurant ever again,” she finished the video.
