Kerry Washington knows how to have scandalous fun with her fans.
The “Scandal” actor shocked fans of the Shonda Rhimes series this week when she posted a racy video compilation on TikTok that featured snaps of her on-screen romance with her former co-star Tony Goldwyn.
Washington joined in on a recent TikTok trend called the “Black wife effect” by sharing “before” photos of Goldwyn in various acting roles prior to playing her love interest, President Fitzgerald Grant III, in “Scandal.”
“Tony! I’ve upgraded your life in so many ways, and today I’m adding one more,” she captioned the post, before pivoting to an urgent message about the real-life 2024 presidential election in November.
“Go upgrade your voter registration status to REGISTERED,” she wrote. “Love you!!!!!!”
“LOL Kerry, we love that you’re a menace,” one TikTok user wrote in the comments.
“Kerryyyyyyy what you being messy for,” wrote another.
Washington, who famously played Olivia Pope in the ABC series, has clearly known for some time that fans have continued to celebrate her on-screen chemistry with Goldwyn, even after the show ended in 2018.
Last month, the “Unprisoned” actor celebrated her former co-star’s birthday by sharing a photo on X, formerly Twitter, that showed Goldwyn embracing her from behind.
“The Itz to my #Olitz” she wrote, referring to the couple nickname given to their “Scandal” characters.
“Love you foreva,” she added.
Days later, Goldwyn posted a photo on Instagram that showed him and Washington laughing together at an event.
“What can I say? [Washington] just makes me laugh!” he captioned the post.
Washington and Goldwyn might be keeping the excitement from their “Scandal” romance alive, but in real life, they’re both married to other people.
Washington and her husband, actor and former NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha, have three children. Goldwyn and his wife, production designer Jane Musky, share two children together.
On Tuesday, Washington responded to an X user who joked that her TikTok video of Goldwyn is “saving Democracy 1 thirst trap at a time.”
“Whatever it takes,” the scandal actor responded, adding laughing emojis.
