London’s WILDES has announced her forthcoming EP, Subsidence. Set for release on March 15th via Apollo, the announcement is accompanied by the release of the lead single ‘heartbreak is silent,’ a soul-stirring anthem that delves into the aftermath of a profound romantic loss.

Following up on her debut album from January, Subsidence promises to retrace her roots, crafting an intimate narrative of heartache and personal growth. The EP serves as a raw portrayal of Walker’s experiences, centering on the poignant tale of a cherished relationship’s abrupt conclusion.

“The EP centres around the abrupt end of a loving relationship that left me quite devastated and shocked,” WILDES explains. The new project is led by her new single ‘heartbreak is silent,’ a suitably subtle, oscillating song dutifully capturing her turmoil post-breakup.

Lyrically the song encapsulates her struggle post-separation, portraying the silent turmoil within amidst a glossy exterior. “Heartbreak is quiet for me / Not the crying in the rain it’s intended to be / Heartbreak is silent for me / Not the burning claret rage of a lover on their knees,” she profoundly expresses.

WILDES plans to celebrate the EP’s release with three intimate headline shows in Bristol, Leeds, and London next March. The EP, a four-track collection featuring ‘heartbreak is silent’ alongside tracks like ‘I Was New’ and ‘Lay Upon Me,’ promises an immersive and emotionally resonant experience.

Live Dates:

March 17th – Bristol, The Louisiana
March 22nd – London, St Pancras Old Church
