Sunny Day Real Estate Share the New Single "Novum Vetus": Stream

Sunny Day Real Estate just announced a 30th anniversary tour for their seminal debut album Diary, and the emo heroes are keeping up the excitement with the release of “Novum Vetus,” their first new song in 10 years.

Though “Novum Vetus” is “new,” its origins go way back to just after the Diary era, having first been conceived of while Sunny Day Real Estate were recording 1998’s How It Feels to Be Something On. Original members Jeremy Enigk, Dan Hoerner, and William Goldsmith decided to bring the song into Seattle’s renowned London Bridge Studio, fleshing it out into a seven-minute epic with Greg Suran and Chris Jordan.

While in the studio, Sunny Day Real Estate also laid down a live, track-by-track re-recording of Diary, which is out May 3rd. Pre-orders are now ongoing. For now, stream “Novum Vetus” below.
