Static-X just celebrated the 25th anniversary of their classic album Wisconsin Death Trip with the announcement of a new career-spanning documentary. A trailer can be seen now.
Titled Evil Disco: The Rise, Fall, and Regeneration of Static-X, the documentary will follow the history of the band from its breakout success with 1999’s Wisconsin Death Trip up through the revival of the group following the tragic death of larger-than-life frontman Wayne Static in 2014.
The trailer reveals quite a bit of what fans can expect, including archival footage of the band and the late Wayne Static, plus interviews with the members of Static-X and their peers, including Dave Navarro, John 5, Jamey Jasta, and more.
Shared the band in a collective statement: “25 years ago … Static-X unleashed Wisconsin Death Trip onto the world. On this very special anniversary — we would like to share a teaser for the first ever official Static-X documentary film — titled Evil Disco: The Rise, Fall, and Regeneration of Static-X.”
Meanwhile, the modern incarnation of Static-X, fronted by the mysterious Xer0, are returning to the road with Sevendust for another leg of co-headlining dates this spring. The trek kicks off in late April, with tickets available here.
