Bad Boys: Ride or Die trailer is now out. The American buddy cop action comedy stars Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Nunez, Eric Dane, Tasha Smith, John Salley, DJ Khaled and others. It is the fourth instalment of the Bad Boys franchise. Adil El Arbi and Bilaal Fallah helm the fourth film.

The official synopsis for Bad Boys: Ride or Die reads, “This Summer, the world’s favourite Bad Boys are back with their iconic mix of edge-of-your-seat action and outrageous comedy, but this time with a twist: Miami’s finest are now on the run.” The trailer looks quite exciting as Mike and Marcus reunite. Their last thrilling mission was in 2020 with the film, Bad Boys for Life. The fourth film is a sequel to the 2020 action film, which was also directed by Adil and Bilall.

But did you know when the film was released back then, the makers didn’t know there would be a fourth film? Yes, you read it right! Even though the fourth film was announced quite some time ago, in an interview, director Adil El Arbi shared that he didn’t know there would be a fourth one while they were working on the threequel. Adil even shared how they couldn’t use the title ‘Bad Boys 4 Life’ with the number four as it’s already taken.

Different Approach For The Fourth Film

In an interview with The Playlist’s The Discourse podcast, about the potential title and different approach for the fourth film, Adil shared, “Well, you know, the title that we like – I don’t know that they’re going to go for it yet – would be like ‘Bad Boys Ride or Die’ because ‘Bad Boys 4 Life’ is already taken. We didn’t know there was going to be a fourth one, you know?”

The director of the Bad Boys: Ride or Die movie added, “But yeah, what’s going to happen in this one is, I think that there’s going to be way more comedy. The third one had the dramatic tone. With this one, it’s really our purpose to get people laughing and having a good time in the theatre. Martin [Lawrence] is going to a higher level in this one. This is the culmination of the Marcus Burnett arc.”

Euphoria star Eric Dane will play a villain in the fourth film. Actress Theresa Randle will not be a part of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence starrer. Tasha Smith will now essay her character, Theresa Burnett. The film is slated to release in theatres on June 7, 2024.
