I Have My Life Back

"I Have My Life Back"

Tommy Lee has undergone successful hand surgery to correct a Dupytren contracture and carpal tunnel issues stemming from decades of playing drums.

Never one to shy from sharing graphic images of himself, Lee posted some pretty gory pictures of the entire procedure, from start to finish, including some open surgery pics that should be viewed with discretion.

“Well kids, it’s show n tell time…” wrote Lee in his Instagram post, “hope this doesn’t wreck your lunch. Only 3 weeks ago i underwent a hand surgery by @drcohenhandsurgeon He addressed 2 debilitating issues for me as a drummer, keyboard player and pretty much everything to do with my right hand. And yesterday was fucking monumental for me to the point of tears …. I have my life back and my money makers. And for you drummers and musicians out there i can say it’s possible to fix!”

The Mötley Crüe drummer now says he can twirl his drumsticks again — one of his signature techniques — after not being able to accomplish the feat for years due to a Dupuytren contracture, a disorder that can cause the ring and small fingers to curl in. After the surgery, Lee said his finger is no longer bent.

Added the drummer: “I haven’t been able to do that in a few years because of the Dupytrens Contracture and carpal tunnel issues that are now gone! @drcohenhandsurgeon and the staff there I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL”.
