Fortnite’s Soundwave Series is hosting Japanese pop artist Gen Hoshino. The series aims to celebrate breakout musicians from around the world.
Gen Hoshino will takeover the Soundwaves in Fortnite starting June 9. Anime fans have already had a taste of his talent in the closing theme for the anime ‘Spy x Family,’ which features his latest song, “Kigeki.” (“Comedy”) The last artist to appear in the Soundwave Series was Brazilian rapper, Emicida.
Want to watch the Japanese pop artist take the stage in Fortnite? Epic Games has made it easy for those who may just want to watch the concert. Once Fortnite is downloaded, you can enter Island code 6831-7094-7130 to enter the show starting on June 9, 2022, at 8 AM ET. The show will air back-to-back on the island for 72 hours so you can tune-in and see the show.
Players also have the option to watch the show via Picture-in-Picture while enjoying other Fortnite experiences. Also featured in the interactive Soundwave performance is his popular Koi track and the Koi Dance Emote. The dance emote will only be available within the experience though, it’s not available as a purchasable DLC emote. Gen Hoshino’s interactive experience was created by the creator team 3D Lab.
Epic Games also announced the next SoundWave Series artist to feature after Gen Hoshino. French-Malian singer Aya Nakamura will be the next artist to hit the virtual stage. Fortnite is available to download for free on a wide variety of platforms. They include PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Android, and PC.
How to Watch Gen Hoshino in Fortnite
- Download Fortnite on your chosen platform.
- Make sure the game is updated to the latest version.
- On the right side of the screen there is a ‘Change‘ button.
- Click it to open the Discover menu.
- Click the tile labeled “Soundwave Series: Gen Hoshino.’
- Hit ‘Play!’ to join the experience.
Gen Hoshino is a Japanese musician, actor, and writer. In 2010, he solo debuted his first album “Baka no Uta.” His song, “Koi,” has become a very popular dance song in Japan and has since been used in a TV drama series. He’s best known for his singles like “SUN,” “Koi,” “Idea,” “Fushigi,” and “Souzou.”
