Dave Grohl and Epiphone Unveil DG-335 Signature Model Guitar

Dave Grohl and Epiphone Unveil DG-335 Signature Model Guitar

Dave Grohl and Epiphone have joined forces for the new DG-335 signature model guitar.

The guitar will be familiar to fans of Foo Fighters, as it combines the body of Grohl’s trusty ES axe — even sporting the same striking Pelham Blue finish — with a one-piece mahogany neck with an elliptical C profile, a laurel fretboard, split diamond inlays, and a Trini Lopez-style headstock with Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners.

The semi-hollowbody is made of layered maple/poplar and also touts the diamond-shaped F-holes that are a fixture of the ES models. Electronically, the guitar houses Dave’s preferred pickups: Gibson USA Burstbucker models, with a Burstbucker 2 in the neck and a Burstbucker 3 in the bridge position. They’re wired to CTS potentiometers, Mallory capacitors, and a Switchcraft 3-way toggle switch and 1/4-inch output jack.

Epiphone maintains that the DG-335 is “one of the most requested models” in the brand’s history, and it’s currently available for purchase via Epiphone’s website. The guitar retails for $1,299 and comes with a Dave Grohl custom hardshell case.
