Disney Reveal Full Tracklist For Upcoming Pop-Punk Album 'A Whole New Sound'

Disney have announced the full tracklist for ‘A Whole New Sound’, an album featuring Disney hits reimagined by iconic alternative, rock, and pop-punk bands.

With the full album set to arrive on September 06, so far we’ve heard Simple Plan’s take on ‘The Lion King’ classic ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ as well as Magnolia Park‘s huge cover of ‘I2I’ from ‘A Goofy Movie’.

With the full tracklist now revealed, Boys Like Girls, Yellowcard, Chrissy Costanza and LØLØ have joined the list of names on the project.

Take a look at the full list of artists – including which Disney hits they’ll be tackling – below.

To celebrate the announcement, Disney has also shared New Found Glory’s electrifying cover of ‘A Whole New World’, taken from 1989 film ‘The Little Mermaid’.

Speaking on their take of the classic, guitarist Chad Gilbert has shared:

“In approaching this song, I sat with the lyrics and melodies for a while. I realized that to make people feel what Ariel’s feeling, we needed to match the energy of the music with the rebellious thoughts of the song, along with her hope for adventure. When she sings about wanting to dance, the music is upbeat and fun, but when she expresses her longing for freedom, the rhythm drops so you really feel the pull of the heart.

“Our band’s biggest goal has always been to show and encourage young adults, the young at heart, and any person that has a dream but faces self-doubt that there is another world out there that will accept them for exactly who they are. To not be afraid to take the next step.”

With the album’s vinyl release set for October 04, the artwork for the collection features legendary Disney characters with a whole new look.

Disney have also shared some brilliant images of Mickey Mouse and his Friends showcasing their pop-punk side, thumbing through record collections and donning backward-facing baseball caps.
