The most notoriously known judge with a distinct personality is Simon Cowell. He began his career on Pop Idol in the U.K., but soon was known as the harshest judge on television with American Idol in the U.S. Since his American Idol days he’s gone on to judge The X Factor, The X Factor UK, Britain’s Got Talent, America’s Got Talent, the spin off series: AGT: The Champions and AGT: Extreme, and more.

Beloved harsh judge Cowell returns to NBC as a judge on the AGT spin off series, AGT: Extreme, while Perry returns to American Idol for her fourth season. AGT: Extreme premiered on NBC on Feb 21, while American Idol premiered on ABC on Feb 27.
