So this is how it begins. The artificial intelligence slash robot takeover of the world, I mean. AI models are getting their own “beauty pageant” in what is being described as “the tech world’s Oscars.”

According to the Mirror, there are around 10,000 AI models (computer-generated fake people) running around on social media these days. And that number is most certainly going to grow.

So, sure, if AI girlfriends are a thing now, why shouldn’t there be a beauty pageant for AI models?

The first Miss AI beauty pageant will take place as part of the Fanvue World AI Creator Awards (WAICAs) in May.

The artificial intelligence-created “models” will be judged on their beauty, tech, and clout, according to the WAICAs website.

Contestants will be judged on “some of the classic aspects of pageantry including their beauty, poise, and their unique answers to a series of questions.”

They will also “earn points for their skill and implementation of AI tools used to create their digital masterpieces including use of Prompts and their output, and visual detailing around hands, eyes, and backgrounds.”

“Engagement numbers with fans, rate of growth of audience and how utilization of other platforms such as Instagram” will also be used in the judging.

“The creator economy is an extremely exciting place to be in right now, and with the help of our platform, there’s been exponential growth in AI creators entering the space, growing their fanbases, and monetizing content,” said Will Monange, co-founder of the competition partner, Fanvue. “Miss AI is just one award as part of a program, and we share the vision for the WAICAs to become the Oscars of the AI creator economy.”

The top three Miss AI contestants will be awarded prizes totaling over $20,000, including a $5,000 cash prize to the winner, plus AI mentorship programs, PR services and more.

Oh yeah, two of the four judges are also AI models: Atiana Lopez and Emily Pellegrini.
