He was first spotted by Ferrari when he was 16 and was quickly snapped up by the team as part of their young driver programme.

Oliver was drafted in to replace Carlos Sainz at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after the Spanish driver pulled out.
Carlos was ruled out of competing on March 8, 2024, as it was reported he would have to undergo emergency surgery after being diagnosed with appendicitis.
