What band was Joe Keery in?

As Screen Rant reported, Keery was in the psychedelic rock band Post Animal for four years before making it big as an actor and launching his solo music career.

He was in the band from 2015 to 2019, and the group has released three albums, including When I Think of You in a Castle (2018)Forward Motion Godyssey (2020), and Love Gibberish (2022).

The band has also released three EPs, which include Post Animal Perform the Most Curious Water Activities (2015), The Garden Series (2016), and Worried About You (2020).

Keery left Post Animal for multiple reasons.

While he wanted “to focus on his acting commitments in the cast of Stranger Things and other projects” he also left the band “because he did not want his star power to overshadow the talents of the other band members,” per Screen Rant.

“It’s important to disassociate Steve from Stranger Things to the band because I think it will eventually hurt the band,” he said in a January 2018 interview with Bustle.

“Those guys are such talented musicians … I think it’s important that they’re hitting the pavement for a while and making a name for themselves and it’s not necessarily associated with Stranger Things,” he continued.

The musician added that there was still hope for the whole band to get back together and that “it’s just about finding the time,” per the outlet.
