On March 26, 2024, Salon Magazine reported that the company Back of Bottle had announced Phan as its new ambassador and educator.

The outlet said Phan will be “creating social media content for the brand and teaching both digital and in-person education.”

“With this partnership, Back of Bottle, founded by Toronto-based salon owner, Ray Civello, is aiming to benefit its customers by creating a synergy with its social media content and education,” the publication continued.

Phan has built an accomplished career in the hair industry in which he “specializes in edgy and unique cuts and color.”

When did he announce his hiatus from the hair industry?

Phan announced his “indefinite hiatus” from the hair industry in an Instagram post on April 8, 2024.

“While I can’t predict the future, I want to thank each and every one of you who has supported me through the highs and lows. Your compassion and kindness will forever stay with me,” he wrote, in part.

“To those who have stood by me— whether you’re part of my audience, my colleagues, or the professional brands that have supported me— I want to express my deepest gratitude. Your unwavering support has been the bedrock of everything I’ve done.

“Thank you for your love, understanding, and continued support,” he continued.
