BROOKS Nader and Billy Haire have decided to officially call it quits, with media outlets reporting that the once-happy couple have been separated for months.
The Sports Illustrated model and advertising executive were last spotted together on what appeared to be a romantic vacation in Mexico in February 2024, though it appears that their relationship has since all but fizzled out as they announced their plans to divorce in May 2024.
Who is Brooks Nader’s estranged husband, Billy Haire?
William “Billy” Cohan Haire was born on November 30, 1985.
While he is best known as being Brooks Nader’s now-estranged husband, Billy also has a full-fledged career and life of his own.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and History from Bucknell University, where he was the captain of the school’s NCAA D1 men’s lacrosse team.
After graduation, Billy worked as a Sales Assistant and Planner at Discovery Communications, before transitioning to a Franchise Account Executive role at Time Inc.

After nearly eight years at Time Inc. and two promotions – to Sales Manager and National Digital Director – Billy also managed to graduate with an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business in 2019.
He then became the National Digital Director and the Vice President of Digital Sales & Partnerships of The Arena Group, “a technology platform and media company with a proven cutting-edge playbook that transforms media brands,” according to his LinkedIn.
The Arena Group notably owns Sports Illustrated, which may explain Brooks’ appearance in the 2023 cover issue.
“Forever in awe of @BrooksNader! Words can’t express how proud I am of you,” Billy captioned the post.
“It’s such an incredible accomplishment to be on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.”
“This has been years in the making and is a testament to your dedication, hard work, and relentless belief in yourself.”
“You are so deserving of this honor. Love you so much!” he added.
Billy is currently a Real Estate Investor and Advisor at 412 Properties, a role he’s had since September 2016.
As of April 2024, he is also the SVP of Digital Sales & Partnerships for Minute Media, “a global technology and content company specializing in sports and culture.”
Despite the couple’s separation and impending divorce, the majority of Billy’s social media posts are snaps of him and Brooks.
The duo appear to have a love of traveling, spending time with family and friends, and dressing up for Halloween.
Billy, on the other hand, has not appeared on Brooks’ Instagram since December 2022, and unlike her estranged husband, Brooks has also failed to acknowledge the couple’s most recent wedding anniversary.
When did Brooks and Billy get married?
Brooks Nader and Billy Haire tied the knot on Saturday, December 14, 2019, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The couple had been dating for three-and-a-half years, and Billy originally popped the question in October 2018.
Brooks always knew she wanted an outdoor wedding close to home, which served as the Louisiana native’s inspiration for the nuptials.
The duo married in the city’s historic French Quarter neighborhood, had a local second-line band provide entertainment and music, and fed their guests “fresh gulf oysters and seafood staples from Brennan’s,” as reported by Brides.
In true New Orleans fashion, the couple even hosted an “after-after party” on Bourbon Street, the city’s infamous and debaucherous nightlife destination.
Despite their southern wedding location, the couple, who met in New York City, also added some city flair for their big day.
Ceci New York designed the couple’s classic wedding invitations, and the groom’s cake was decorated with the New York City skyline and logos of Billy’s favorite sports teams.
The bride also wore an Oberon gown from Pronovias.
My dad came to the dress fitting, which was so special to have him there for that process,” Brooks said.
“The girls were making jokes about who was going to shed the first tear.”
“When I came out in the dress, my dad ‘fainted’ when he saw me. I knew it was the right dress!”
The couple’s ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Church, a Catholic cathedral dating back to 1727.
Immediately following the ceremony, guests headed to a cocktail-style reception, which included signature cocktails – a Manhattan for Billy and a spicy margarita for Brooks – and ” local staples such as gumbo and shrimp and grits, as well as an ice bar of fresh gulf oysters and boiled shrimp.”
The now-estranged couple’s big day was documented by East Coast Entertainment, who shared snaps of the wedding day’s events on their Instagram.
What was Brooks and Billy’s first date?
Most first dates don’t go as planned, which was the case for Brooks and Billy.
Billy Haire invited Brooks Nader on a dinner date to Bond Street Sushi in New York City.
The first first-date faux pas went to Brooks, who showed up 20 minutes late to the upscale restaurant.
When she got there, Billy had already ordered dinner for the both of them, without consulting Brooks on what she wanted to eat.
To make matters worse, after just a few bites of sushi, Brooks became nauseous and quickly had to run to the bathroom.
“I ate like my first bite of sushi—he already had everything ordered—and I sprinted to the bathroom and I was projectile vomiting everywhere,” she recalled, as reported by Sports Illustrated Lifestyle.
“Because I got really sick, I had a stomach disease that I didn’t know about.”
“The waitress went back to the table and said, ‘Your date’s in the bathroom having a really rough time,’” Nader said, adding that she “didn’t specify throw up or what it was.”
“Then I sprinted out of the date and he thought that I just didn’t like him, and that was my way of getting out of it,” she said.
Still, despite Brooks’ antics and Billy’s preconceived notions about their future, the duo ended up hitting it off, and their relationship blossomed.
“But I did like him at the time, and I do now,” Brooks said.
“There were many dates after that—he was totally hooked after I sprinted out throwing up,” she added, laughing.
