Who is Jason Manford?

Jason Manford was born in Salford on May 26, 1981.

Inspired by the likes of Billy Connolly, Eddie Izzard and Peter Kay, he first started experimenting with stand-up at the age of 17.

Jason got his big break in Johnny Vegas‘ psychedelic sitcom Ideal, in which he played Jack, and he also hosted a breakfast show on Xfm Manchester.

Then in 2007 he was made a team captain on 8 Out Of 10 Cats, before getting his own show in the form of Channel 4’s Tonightly.

Who is Jason Manford’s wife and do they have children?

Jason has been married to second wife Lucy Dyke since December 2017, and the couple share two children together.

Not much is known about Lucy, as she and Jason have chosen to keep their relationship reasonably private — apart from when she features in the comedian’s stand-up material.

Jason has four other children from a previous marriage.

He previously told The Sun: “We all get along and it is good material. My family are half of my act. People like to hear about them.

“They come to hear that they are not a terrible parent, that it’s normal to lose it in front of a packed shopping centre.”

What TV shows has Jason Manford been in?

Jason has been on an impressive number of TV shows, including BBC drama Ordinary Lies.

He became a BBC staple after hosting The One Show between July and November 2010, and later hosted A Question Of Sport spin-off quiz show Super Saturday in 2014.

In 2015, he hosted The Money Pit on Dave and It’s A Funny Old Week on ITV, and was a Sunday morning presenter on Absolute Radio in 2016.

A former regular on Live At The Apollo, he also hosted The Nightly Show from April 10-14, 2017, and claimed he would be able to “save” the failing format.

In February 2018, Jason hosted What Would Your Kid Do?, an ITV show where children were recorded with hidden cameras to see how they would react in a given situation.

He took part in Comic Relief Does University Challenge in March 2019, before finishing second as Hedgehog on ITV’s The Masked Singer a year later.

In 2022, Jason starred in Freddie and Jason Two Men in A Tent, and during the same year became part of the judging panel on ITV singing competition Starstruck.

What is Jason Manford’s net worth?

As of June 2024, Jason has a reported net worth of around £2million.

This has been accumulated through his touring and TV work.

He has come a long way since getting his first job at the age of 17 as a glass collector at a local pub.

Why is Jason Manford playing for World XI at Soccer Aid 2024?

The two teams competing in Soccer Aid are always England and World XI.

But the entry requirements for World XI are not particularly strict, meaning Englishman Jason is allowed to represent the side.

Speaking about who he is looking forward to sharing the Soccer Aid 2024 field with, he told SeeTicketsBlog: “Well, one of the reasons I signed up again was Lee Mack really.

“We’re good pals and we play football together quite regularly, and when he was like ‘come on let’s do it again’.

“I think he just wants me on the pitch because he thinks I’m the only person worse than him, but that’s the reason I like him on the pitch!

“It is also exciting to be playing alongside actual football legends!”

Why Jason is not on the England team and which position he will play in for the World XI hasn’t been reported.
