Weatherstate have paid homage to their heroes Green Day with a cover of ‘Burnout’, to mark their ten years together as a band.
Speaking about the reasoning why they chose Green Day and this track in particular as a means to mark their anniversary, vocalist and guitarist Harry Hoskins has said:
“Whilst stating the obvious that Green Day are the reason we picked up instruments as kids, ‘Burnout’ specifically has always been a special song for this band.
“Our first ever gig in 2014 was a Green Day covers set at a club night, and we opened the set with this song.
“With us now celebrating 10 years together as Weatherstate, we wanted to mark the occasion and couldn’t think of anything better than going back to where it all started.”

As a further way to celebrate their decade as a band, Weatherstate are also releasing a limited-edition, special triple cassette tape of their first three releases.
Titled ‘All Bangers, No Clangers’, it will feature their ‘Dead Ends’ EP, ‘Dumbstruck’ EP and the album ‘Born a Cynic’.
This is the very first time that ‘Born a Cynic’ will be available on cassette and the run is limited to 50 copies.
The band are also hitting the road from late next month with the US band Chlorine, on a run of dates that includes Brighton, Southampton, Newport and London, as well as a stop-over at Teddy Rocks Festival.
