WHEN Rihanna met Man City ace Jack Grealish in New York this week, they were a match made in photo heaven.
But amid the flashbulbs, it seems one young fan only had eyes for the football star.
The nipper bounded over and demanded that Rihanna, 36, one of the biggest-selling female recording artists of all time, should take a photo of him, with his hero.
But far from throwing a diva strop, the mother-of-two, thought to be worth 1.4 billion dollars, obligingly took the photo.
The music legend was in the Big Apple to watch Manchester City’s preseason friendly loss to A C Milan on Tuesday.
Wearing a sports cap and oversized baseball T-shirt from her Fenty range, the 36-year-old posed with the midfielder and AC Milan players, Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah.
But the moment of irony when the singer was asked to go behind the lens, was filmed and posted on social media, with some fans commenting on her seven-year absence from the spotlight.
One said: “The younger generation doesn’t recognise Rihanna any more and it’s all her fault.”
Meanwhile, another said: “She doesn’t seem bothered at all and she gives the kid his moment, I respect that.”
Another said: “Don’t worry she’s still relevant until every last one of us in this generation dies and that’s fine.”
And another person mentioned her down-to-earth appeal, they said: “I promise you she’s not bothered. From the little bit that I know about her, I bet she absolutely loved getting the opportunity to take some photos for these kids.”
Meanwhile, Midfielder Jack Grealish, made no secret of his delight at meeting the superstar, having confessed to her being his celebrity crush some years before.
In an interview unearthed by fans from 2019, Jack, who then played for Aston Villa, revealed that Rihanna was the celebrity he’d most like to meet, confessing, “because she’s pretty and I like her music.”
After the big occasion, Jack, who is expecting his first child, with long-term partner, Sasha Attwood, shared the photo of him meeting Rihanna, with the simple caption: “A few days in the Big Apple, now on to Orlando.”
Having not released an album since 2016, Rihanna has two young sons, Rza, 2 and Riot, 1, with Rapper ASAP Rocky.
But while she has been enjoying a break from performing, the singer has been busy focusing on motherhood and her beauty label, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna, which is thought to be worth around 1 billion.
