Vicki Belo recalls the ‘nightmare’ at Cannes Film Festival last year

Attending the prestigious Cannes Film Festival last year proved to be quite an experience for Dra. Vicki Belo.

While it was a “dream come true,” Belo’s experience was quite the contrary as it proved to be a “nightmare,” she shared on her Instagram page yesterday, May 23, via a short video.

“Hi everybody. It’s Cannes Film Festival season again and I remember when Gucci invited me to walk down the red carpet last year, it was a dream come true, but that dream became a nightmare because number one nawala ang maleta ko (I lost my luggage) with all the make-up, hair extension, etcetera,” she said.

As a result, Belo had to buy a new set of make-up to be able to make it through the red carpet.

Another problem came as the gown she was to wear was too long even through she already wore shoes with six and a half-inch heels, which she showed in the video.

At the red carpet, Belo reveals that she was left by her husband, Dr. Hayden Kho, just so she could make poses by herself.

“So I have to beg to Hayden, ‘Please ‘wag mo akong iwanan’ (Please don’t leave me) because the nightmare would be to fall in front of all these people,” she said.

“Hayden left me because he wanted me to make pa-aura, aura (poses). Type ko ba ‘yun (Is that what I want)? No, I can’t do aura-aura. But they were all taking his pictures because he thought he was a big Korean star,” she recalled.

Then, another hassle came when the photographer Belo had hired to take their pictures on the red carpet did not make it.

“He was late,” Belo said.

But still and all, Belo calls her Cannes Film Festival a “wonderful experience and the lesson I learned is no matter what obstacle God put in your way, He will always get you through.”  /ra
