“Twilight” star Cam Gigandet has been slammed with a lawsuit over unpaid rent. The actor is being sued by the owner of his home for allegedly failing to pay an agreed amount of money for the past four months.
Both Gigandet and his estranged wife, Dominque Geisendorff, are named in the lawsuit. The owner of the property is suing the couple for unlawful detainer, claiming that they entered into a residential lease for the Los Angeles property, which they have now allegedly “breached.”
Cam Gigandet Sued Over Unpaid Rent
According to the legal documents obtained by The Blast, the owner of the Los Angeles property claims Gigandet and his wife have failed to hold up their end of the bargain by paying him the monthly fees they had agreed to pay in their lease.
The suit claims that on August 25, 2022, Gigandet and Geisendorff entered into a written residential lease of the property.
“The lease was for a one (1) year term and, thereafter, became a month-to-month tenancy. Pursuant to the lease, the tenant’s monthly rent obligation was $6,650.00,” the suit states.
It continued, “[Gigandet and Geisendorff] have breached the lease in that they have failed to pay the entire rent from November 2023 through February 2024.”
This means the couple owes a total of $21,000 in back rent. Due to their failure to pay the agreed amount, the owner of the property is seeking a repossession of the home.
The suit further notes that Gigandet and Geisendorff have been served a notice of the amount they owe since February 6, 2024, and have both still not paid their rent. They also continue to make use of the home without the owner’s “permission or consent.”
Now, the owner is demanding “for restitution of the reality,” “forfeiture of the lease,” and “for daily damages in the amount of $221.67 from March 1, 2024, through the date of the judgment.”
It is worth noting that Gigandet and Geisendorff are currently in the middle of a divorce. The couple has yet to respond to the lawsuit.
