SHE claimed to have spent £27,000 getting her “perfect” look by flying abroad for ‘Turkey teeth’.
Maisie found herself going viral as she shared videos of herself on TikTok, debuting her bright white gnashers and gushing about how much she loved her new appearance.
While people questioned whether she was pulling their legs, Maisie continued to insist that she was thrilled with her veneers – despite the amount of pain she was in.
“Turkey teeth” have become famous in recent years – with thousands of Brits getting their natural gnashers shaved down to pegs for the cut-price veneers.
Although still pricey, they’re a fraction of the cost of seeing a British dentist – spiking their appeal.
And despite some saying they loved her new look, others were less impressed, and Maisie was even trolled by her son.
“What do you think of Mummy’s new teeth?” Maisie asked her son.
“They’re alright,” he replied.
“But you look like Gnasher from Dennis the Menace!”
“That’s very rude!” Maisie retorted.
Others also twigged that she might have been having them on, with one writing: “The dedication to keep this going in every location is hilarious. Love it.”
“This cannot honestly be serious,” another laughed.
However, the prank managed to fool some people, until Maisie revealed the teeth were actually a hoax.
And the joke’s on the trolls, too.
While Maisie was unwilling to reveal how much money she made from the prank, she told Fabulous that it earned her a staggering 20,000 new followers on TikTok.
On top of that, all she had to do was buy a £4 pair of fake veneers on Amazon.
In her big reveal video, Maisie bragged: “Nine out of 10 of you were fooled.
“These cost me £4 from Amazon!
“You do the maths.
“So those who laugh last, laugh longest!”
What to know about Turkey teeth
Although thousands flock abroad every year in hopes for a new set of pearly whites, experts have warned of the dangers of travelling to Turkey for the popular treatment.
This is because a part of this procedure involves filing down your natural gnashers in order to accommodate the new veneers.
As the natural tooth enamel will not grow back, beauty lovers will always require some kind of veneer to be fitted.
Dr Maurice Johannes, Principle Dentist at Harley Street Smile Clinic, echoed the worries, saying: “I can’t stress enough that people need to be 100% clear about exactly what they are signing up for when they go abroad for cosmetic dental treatment.
“Although patients are under the impression they are having veneers, in reality they are having crowns placed, which means much more aggressive tooth reduction.
“Someone like Katie [Price] may be happy with the finished look, but with this amount of tooth reduction it increases massively the risk of having nerve damage and root canal treatment.”
“Unreal girl, well played,” one person wrote in the comments section.
As another added: “Ah you have to give it to her!
“Fair play girl!
“The amount of chaos this sparked! Actually brilliant!”
“It was fun!” a third laughed.
“I even followed you from the Netherlands!! Nice joke!”
“Girl you had me got baadddd!” someone else wrote.
Maisie has since revealed that she is actually planning to get Turkey teeth, but probably won’t be going for such a bright, white pair as in the prank videos.
