Travis Kelce isn’t down with the idea of having a fall wedding.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end explained why he’d avoid scheduling nuptials in the middle of football season while talking to a caller during the “No Dumb Questions” portion of his “New Heights” podcast with brother Jason Kelce on Wednesday.
When the caller told the Kelce brothers how his girlfriend’s dreams of walking down the aisle during autumn wouldn’t work with his football-watching plans, Jason Kelce laughed and said, “Sounds like this marriage is going to work out great.”
Chiming in, his brother Travis Kelce said, “I actually don’t know people who’ve gotten married in the fall. Because all the weddings I’ve been to and all my friends always do it in the summer.”
The NFL star, who has been dating pop star Taylor Swift since around September 2023, then suggested that the potential groom “find a weekend where the team isn’t playing anybody good maybe.”
Pointing out another practical reason to punt on the idea of a fall marriage, he added, “Also, if you really do have a problem with that, maybe it’s in her best interest to not have it in the fall so that she knows you’re invested in the anniversary every time it comes around.”
“I think you guys should duke that out,” Kelce said, clearly stumped by the caller’s very personal conundrum.
“I’ve seen weddings in fucking February. I’ve seen weddings everywhere but [in] the fall. So I’m not sure if the fall was a good wedding season,” he added.
His brother, Jason Kelce, had a completely different take on the matter, however.
As the former Philadelphia Eagles player and longtime husband broke things down, he said, “Brother, I’m gonna tell you right now. Do the fall and the wedding and avoid this frivolous fight that means absolutely fucking nothing.”
“You can watch the football game another [time], like, record it and watch it again,” the older Kelce, who married wife Kylie Kelce back in 2018, reminded the caller.
Jason Kelce told the podcast fan to keep things in perspective, as he added, “Like, I don’t know what you want me to say. There’s certain things that are more important than football, and if the wedding isn’t more important than football, we got some bigger issues here.”
Even so, his brother glibly wondered if a fall wedding date would put the couple’s football-obsessed friends in a tough spot.
“Don’t make my friends have to not go,” he said. “Everybody’s got season tickets. Alright? Don’t make my friends have to choose whether or not they have to sell their tickets that week.”

The brothers’ conversation left some fans wondering if Travis Kelce was mulling over the idea of proposing to his very famous girlfriend.
Earlier this year, the answer was reportedly a definitive “no.”
“Travis has no plans on proposing to Taylor anytime soon,” a source close to the football player told Us Weekly in May. “It’s not even on his radar. Marriage is something he takes very seriously and not something he would ever just jump into without giving it some careful consideration.”
