My generation, millennials, used to call it “cringe-worthy.” Today, Gen Z calls it “getting the ick,” which is apparently exactly what happened to megastar Taylor Swift while attending Patrick Mahomes’ charity gala in Las Vegas, Nevada with boyfriend Travis Kelce.
The celebrity power couple were in attendance at the 15 and Mahomies Foundation Golf Classic on Saturday night when Kelce got on the stage to speak and unleash his latest “Viva Las Vegas” screech.
In a post that’s since racked up over 75,000 likes, Jackie Gonzalez, a deaf woman who competed on the Squid Game: The Challenge reality series, broke down Swift’s reaction to the moment and indicated that she basically “got the ick” and she said “That again… I can’t do it.”
Squid Game: The Challenge alum Jackie Gonzalez, who is deaf, shared an Instagram video of the 14-time Grammy winner’s reaction to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end hilariously shouting “Viva Las Vegas” as she decoded the pop star’s expressions.
“That again,” Swift said to Mahomes, who was sitting next to her, according to Gonzalez. “I can’t do it,” Swift appears to add, before shaking her head from side to side. [via Page Six]
Kelce has done his “Viva Las Vegas” battle cry before, as he yelled it into Jim Nantz’s microphone after winning the Super Bowl in Sin City earlier this year after his Kansas City Chiefs triumphed over the San Francisco 49ers in overtime.
Earlier this offseason, Kelce signed a two-year, $34 million contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs as the look to win the Super Bowl for a historic third-straight season. The deal makes Kelce the highest-paid player at his position in the entire NFL.
