Tom Brady is focused on his family following news of his and Gisele Bündchen’s divorce. On Oct. 31, just three days after the former pair announced their split on Instagram, Brady opened up about his plans to prioritize his and Bündchen’s kids — son Benjamin and daughter Vivian — his oldest son Jack (from his previous relationship with ex Bridget Moynahan), and his football career moving forward.
“I think there’s a lot of professionals in life that go through things that they deal with at work and they deal with at home,” Brady shared during an episode of the “Let’s Go! With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray” podcast. “Obviously, the good news is it’s a very amicable situation and I’m really focused on two things: taking care of my family — and certainly my children — and secondly, doing the best job I can to win football games.”
“That’s what professionals do. You focus at work when it’s time to work, and then when you come home, you focus on the priorities that are at home,” he continued. “All you can do is the best you could do. That’s what I’ll just continue to do as long as I’m working and as long as I’m being a dad.”
Brady’s comments come after he referred to his and Bündchen’s divorce as a “painful and difficult” decision via his Instagram statement. Of their kids, the athlete also wrote: “We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve.”
In her own statement, Bündchen echoed her ex-partner’s sentiments about their kids and wrote, “My priority has always been and will continue to be our children whom I love with all my heart.” “We will continue co-parenting to give them the love, care and attention they greatly deserve,” she added.
News of Brady and Bündchen’s split broke on Oct. 28 after People confirmed that the pair filed for divorce after 13 years of marriage. In the months leading up to their split, the two made headlines with reported speculation over the state of their marriage.
