With her debut EP out today, Tilly Kingston has shared the project’s explosive title track, ‘Fairytales & Horror Stories’.
The West Midlands based 18-year-old’s long-awaited debut EP also features the tongue-in-cheek track ‘Youth Is Wasted’, as well as fiery first single ‘Best Break Up Ever’.
The opening track of the EP, ‘Fairytales & Horror Stories’ is complete with ripping screams and a pummelling breakdown.
Take a listen to the newly released title track below.
Speaking on the struggles to fit in which inspired much of the EP, Tilly has shared:
“I struggled for a long time with my identity and who I was.
“I knew I wasn’t like other kids at my school. I’m a left-of-centre kind of person, and I stuck out like a sore thumb. Lots of them would look at me and think, ‘She’s weird…’ And that led to me being bullied for a while.”
To celebrate the release of her debut EP, Tilly is set to play two shows over the next week – see the dates below.
July 13 – Main Evolution stage at Lichfield Fuse Festival
July 20 – The Station, Cannock / TOWER ROCK
