DJ Tiesto has officially exited the Super Bowl schedule for performances after a “personal family emergency.” The Dutch producer was booked for a pre-game set and then multiple sets during breaks. He announced the emergency on X today and said it was a “tough decision” for him and his team.
Tiesto’s fans reacted to his tweet with sadness and understanding of the situation and wished him and his family well.
Despite Tiesto dropping out of the event, many celebrity DJs and artists are still scheduled to perform in Las Vegas and the Super Bowl’s lineup of events.
Tiesto Dropped Out Of The Super Bowl DJ Set
Tiesto will not be performing at the upcoming 2024 Super Bowl. The Dutch DJ was getting ready to be the first ever in-game DJ at the football championship game, but a “personal family emergency” has ruined those plans.
Earlier today, he took to X, formerly Twitter, to announce that he won’t be playing anymore. The tweet read, “Me and my team have been preparing something truly special for months, but a personal family emergency is forcing me to return home Sunday morning.”
Tiesto further explained in his tweet that choosing to drop out of the schedule was a “tough decision” for him and his team, but “family always comes first.” He added, “Thank you to the NFL for the collaboration, and looking forward to working with them to deliver something incredible together in the future!”
Tiesto Was Meant To Play During Breaks
Tiesto was scheduled to perform multiple times for the Super Bowl events. This includes the pre-game set on February 11th and during game breaks at the Super Bowl itself. Portions of his performance were also to be broadcast during the Super Bowl LVIII broadcast on CBS and available for livestream on his personal social channels.
With Tiesto’s exit from the schedule, it’s not clear whether the Super Bowl planners have another DJ lined up to replace him. It’s also unclear whether Tiesto will still appear at his scheduled performances for tonight and tomorrow at the Brooklyn Hangar.
Our sources say the famous DJ will still perform multiple times in Las Vegas, with the biggest being LIV nightclub inside the Fontainebleau Hotel on Saturday. He is only missing the big game on Sunday.
