Tamera Mowry-Housley is sharing a message of support for her sister, Tia Mowry, amid her divorce from Cory Hardrict. “I love her dearly,” Mowry-Housley said on an Oct. 5 episode of “Today With Hoda & Jenna.” “She is strong, but I know right now she just kind of just wants to, you know, just kind of process it all, take it all in, and be a little private about that. And as a sister, you know, I’m just going to respect that.”
In Los Angeles court documents filed on Sept. 30 and obtained by POPSUGAR, Mowry cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for her split from Hardrict. She did not specify a date of separation.
The actor tied the knot with Hardrict in 2008, and they share two children, 11-year-old Cree and 4-year-old Cairo. The court documents specify that she is asking for joint custody with Hardrict.
On Oct. 4, Mowry posted a quote on her Instagram Story that read, “Letting go can be painful. But it won’t hurt as much as holding on to an illusion.”
Later, she addressed the split in an Instagram post, which a rep for Mowry directed POPSUGAR to when reached for comment. “I have always been honest with my fans, and today is no different,” she wrote. “I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways. These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children. I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives.”
Mowry-Housley and Mowry starred on “Sister, Sister” from 1994 to 1999, playing identical twins separated at birth. Mowry-Housley has two children with former pro baseball player and former Fox News reporter Adam Housley. She and Mowry have two brothers, Tavior and Tahj.
