The NAACP is working with CBS Studios on this fresh soapy offering, which will center around an affluent black family living in a very exclusive gated community.
It’s awesome that CBS has enough faith in the soap genre to add another one after all these years.
To help set themselves up for success with The Gates, it’s reasonable to think they might want to cast some familiar faces.
Could The Gates go after some underutilized Y&R actors to help form their new cast and get the show off the ground?
On social media, many fans have already been rooting for some of their favorites to get new roles.
Brytni Sarpy certainly doesn’t get much airtime as Elena Dawson these days, so could The Gates snatch her up to play someone else?

It’s just a matter of whether Morgan would be willing to make a full-time commitment to another soap, but she might if the right deal was offered to her.
Sean Dominic (Nate Hastings) might be someone else to keep an eye on as The Gates takes flight at CBS.
It’s easy to imagine Dominic accepting a new part on The Gates if they want him and the price is right.
Even Y&R alums like Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla Winters) have been getting some fan buzz as potential stars for The Gates, so all of this is worth keeping in mind!
Of course, another option might be for The Gates to do some crossovers with The Young and the Restless and even The Bold and the Beautiful.
In that case, some Y&R and B&B characters might make appearances on The Gates once it kicks off.
