Although there’s no confirmation on Ashland’s fate just yet, the latest inside scoop is that Robert Newman won’t be around long-term.
Newman is a fantastic actor who has put his own spin on the role, but the show is still building toward Ashland’s exit based on everything we’re hearing.

Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) has a secret agenda and intends to get Ashland to pony up $250 million for the venture they’re starting.
That just so happens to be the exact amount Ashland has left following his deal with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) – minus the $250 million he already gave to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) for New Hope.
The goal appears to be duping Ashland into providing money for a venture that he won’t be part of.
Victoria will start Destiny Media with Ashland, but it doesn’t look like he’ll be included in her destiny at all!
With that in mind, the show will have a couple of options.
It’s possible Ashland won’t know when to quit, so he could stick around to harass Victoria and try to make her forgive him. In that case, they could still get a murder mystery out of all this.
Back when Ashland hatred was at an all-time high in Genoa City, it seemed like everyone was vowing to eliminate him forever.
Even Ashland himself declared that nothing short of murder would get rid of him.
It’d be easy to lean back into that angle and continue building to a deadly departure for Ashland. There’d be no shortage of suspects, so they could do a whodunit and milk some real drama out of Ashland’s exit.
However, it’s perhaps more likely that Ashland will just end up heartbroken and humiliated.
Ashland may find himself dead inside instead and just scamper away in shame. That might open the door for Ashland to return somewhere down the road.
